2/27/2006 - Team Meeting

Today practice was cancelled on account of rain. Luckily the main objective of today to organize ourselves at a team meeting in the ARC team room.
The first part of the meeting was an inspirational talk about how proud Matt was with our play at UCLA.
Then Matt and Allen outlined their plan for the team fothis r the next two to three months. Basically, they plan to split the team into an A and B teams. The captains are going to allocate players at their discretion based on skill levels, dedication, and effort... well hopefully based on those criterion. Their plans for the A team involve stricter discipline, more intense conditioning, and practice with A-level skill sets. As for people on the "injured" list, I hope they will probably play on the B team until they recover.
The main objective of this plan is to allow the B team to learn the basics rather than forcing them to understand the advanced level H stack and clam, meanwhile leaving the A team players to play each other and gain team experience.
There will most likely be unforseen controversy, but hopefully it will all work out for the best. All of this is done in preparation for making it to regionals (i.e. in the top 8 at sectionals).
Future meetings planned to address the Irvine Invite and the future of the women's team.

Post-meeting festivities involved Gina's, working out at the ARC, pasta and pancake fest, and watching 24.
