01/08/2007 - New Year Conditioning + Intro to H-stack

The 2008 year begins and so does the competitive season of ultimate. The fields were closed due to the storms over the past weekend so the team met in parking lot 1B. 15 players attended plus a sick Matt Khosh.

The first 30 minutes was pure throwing, working on all throws. Although it may sound mundane, many players had not touched a disc over the break. After throwing, the following conditioning began.

The team ran a predetermined 3 mile route along the streets of Irvine with the following conditions:
- Everytime you crossed a road (a break in the sidewalk along the route), you had to do 15 squats and 10 calf raises.
- Everytime you reached a covered bus stop, you had to jump and touch the cover 50 times quickly.
- The conditioning ended up a parking structure where you had to run up 6 levels of stairs without skipping any steps, and then come back down.

Once conditioning was over, the team stretched and/or threw. The remainder of practice was allocated to teaching the H-stack offense. H-stack offense can be found at (courtesy of Allen):
