Personal note: Biochemistry is pwning me. I was late to this one.
Standard warm-up
Drills
-*New drill - Gauntlet Drill - Breakmark drill variant. Setup is the same as breakmark drill except that it involves the whole team. One mark will go down a line throwers and guard every one until he has guarded every thrower. Then players will switch positions so that everyone goes through. Thrower cannot throw until stall 5.
-Diamond drill - go-to drill with cut to breakside.
-Dump drill - dump drill adapted for the new dumpsets. One drill practiced the dump's upline cut. The other drill practiced the anchor's cut from the stack to the breakside. Drill focuses on cutting, timing, and the thrower's finesse in the upline throw and the thrower's ability to break mark.
All the plays introduced today involve an ISO.
*New V-stack play - "Sideline"
-Thrower calls a man to separate from the V stack as an iso. The iso will cut in and then deep with the goal to drag the last back deep with him. This should allow the last person in the stack to cut in during the switch.
*New Endzone play 1 - "Superstar"
-New name for an iso call in the endzone. Stack stays in the back while an iso gets open in the front of the endzone.
*New Endzone play 2 - "Pocko"
-V stack sets up in the back of the endzone. Thrower calls a player to move to the front of the stack. Called player cuts to the front corner of the endzone and then back towards the center/breakside of the field. This cut is allowed to be flat/horizontal.
*New Endzone play 3 - "Villain"
-...under construction
Scrimmage
Light: Steven, Jerry, Sully, Phil, KG, Danny Tran, Miller
Dark: Khosh, Box, Roeder, Yangbin, Bryan(N), Truffles, D-Rock, Neben
-Games were to 3 and required a double score to practice the endzone plays. Games were pretty close. The endzone plays worked very well for the most part.
-Endzone play was only shut down twice (from what I observed). One was from an overthrow,. The other was off of the "villain" call, which eventually lead to a score, but not because of the play.
-Scrimmage was short today. The iso plays worked for everyone including the rookies like Phil (or Rockband, which was my call). No highlights or great plays today. However, there was a ridiculous moment where Roeder threw a lefty flick to the open side, to a dump, that went nowhere. Yea, that was no good.
Team dinner at Brandywine with the Women's team. The biggest topic at dinner was talk of a Men vs Women gingerbread house making contest. HAHAHA
