Today was another intense practice marked by ardent conditioning and drilling. The team ran thesame conditioning as last practice marked by the standard plyometrics (leg warm-ups) followed by the sprint drill from wednesday, which involved sprinting the 70-yard length of the field and jogging the 40x25 yard endzones.
After conditioning, we went into endzone drill. Unfortunately, this drill took a while to complete, as in get to 10 scores with no drops. In addition to a tough crosswind, everyone was fatigued from the conditioning. However, that was actually the Ben's goal. He wanted us to learn to play ultimate through the exhaustion that you would feel during a tournament.
Once finished, the team split into two and played the following different offenses/defenses.
Dark - Bob, Big Eric, Jerry, Raph, Allen, Danny, Chris P
Lights - Sam, Box, Scott, Max, KG, Guy, Jamison
(could be wrong about these)
Results:
Split Stack - Lights (3-0)
Zone - Darks - (3-0)
Vertical - Darks - (3-1)
People were exhausted once these games were finished that most the team left around 8:15pm. Another game was started using 5's, with two girls on each time. Yes, this means all but 6 or 7 guys were left on the field. However, it was nice as it was the first time Liz came onto the field and played, who was new to the game.
