2/21/2008 - Small sad practice

So this is the first practice after Prez Day. The tuesday practice and wednesday track workout were both cancelled. Unfortunately, with the added rest days, much of the team still remained absence. There remained about 6 healthy bodies through out the practice.

Drills:
-A Give-and-Go drill that focused on receiving a quick dish and a quick throw. Setup: Ladder of cones with a person at each cone.
Motion: Player throws to the player, runs for the dish and then throws to the other player. This continues til he reaches the end of the ladder.
-Layout-to-Run drill that had players working on their ability to get up and chase their man after layouting.
-Running drill - Partners would take turns holding each other back as they would try to run. Used to help acceleration and driving from the ground.

Yea these drills seemed impromptu and kinda weird, but they had their purpose.

Scrimmage was double box with conditions.
Light: Me, Box, KG
Dark: Khosh, Miller, Thunder
Sideline: Roeder, Sam, Jerry, Peter, Kobe

First game - One team would get five attempts to score, and then switch sides. The opposing team ran a sprint for each score.
Light: scored 3
Dark: scored 0

Remaining games - Each team would get three attempts to score. If offense dropped, defense would get one chance to score. Defensive score is 2 points. Sprints were equal to the difference of their scores.
1st game: 4-1 Light
2nd game: 3-1 Light
3rd game: 1-0 Light
4th game: 2-2 Tied

Practice was odd with so little people, but there is not much we can do about it. I'm not sure what the offciers have planned for future practices if attendance keeps up like this. Anyway, thats about all. We ate at Carl's after.
