Vegas quickie 2/8/2008-2/10/2008

Irvine Nightlife hits the city of sin in the biggest college tournament of the year. The Open division of the tournament reached a new high of 80 teams (vs 64 in the past two years). The shear number of teams complicated pools and brackets. In short, the teams were tiered (into 4 I think) where each team could only advance as far as a specific ranking.
Our team went 6-3.
Wins: UNLV, Messiah, Washington-B, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, MIT
Loss: Colorado State, Lewis and Clark, Salt Lake City

From what I have been told, if we had gone undefeated, we still only could have made 33rd place. We ended up 46th.

The wins were not very exciting as they were a pretty definitive win. Our losses were more intense and very more interesting. Our first loss was from Colorado State who beat us 11-12 on universe point. During this game, UCI and CSU traded points up until the very end. Offense was flawless from the 6th point to the 23rd point.

Video can be found here. It is mostly from Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
